Weddings - Inspiration Made With Love

Today's real couples said "I do" with several romantic and loving themes. From intimate elopements to formal affairs that cover every style and tradition, be inspired by stunning wedding venues, unique decor details, fashion choices, and personalized celebrations.  Here are a few of the ideas and suggestions that we have picked up over the years.

5 Tips for Choosing the Perfect Wedding Vendors

The vendors that you choose for your special day will bring your wedding vision to fruition -- but with so many different options available, it can be difficult to know where to even start.

First, a few things to remember:

Schedule meetings with the most sought-after vendors on your consideration list first, such as a popular venue or caterer in your area.  Some of these will book up as much as two years in advance.  It is important to meet face-to-face even with today's Covid-19, options such as Zoom and Skype are available.  Reading their facial and body language will give you a better sense of their demeanor.  Of course, follow the same etiquette that you would for a meeting at work.  Dress appropriately, respect the vendor's time (call if you think you're going to be late), and be certain to follow up with them in a timely manner when you have made your final decision.

1. Do your homework with your fiance and set a budget.

Set your budget and the number of guests first so that you don't fall in love with a venue or vendors that are out of your price range or can't accommodate the size of your groups.  Even if you do end up spending a little more than you had anticipated, it's better to lay out your expectations in private.  It's also a perfect time to discuss your major likes and dislikes with each other.  That way, you're both on the same page about what your must-haves are like an unbelievable band, gorgeous photos for those later years, or a one-of-a-kind menu.

2. Determine if there is a great chemistry with your wedding team.

So, you and your fiance have evaluated your vendor's work and find that they are "the one."  Great!  Another not-so-obvious consideration is whether your personalities will mesh.  This is an important service (not to mention the significant costs), so it's is critical that you feel comfortable working with them on what is likely to be the most emotional day of your life.  You want someone who put you at ease, someone who you know has made your wedding a priority, and will have you feeling comfortable and stress-free when that day arrives. Trust is key.

3. Ask for client referrals and check testimonials.

Word of mouth is key to finding your event experts.  This is where other brides' testimonials are so important.  Check out social media -- Instagram, Facebook, and the vendor's website.  Ask vendors to provide contact information for recent clients who can vouch for their services.  And also important, don't forget to pay it forward when you're special day is done and you're doing those "thank you" cards.  A glowing review from a client is worth any vendor's weight in gold.

4. Get everything that's included in writing, down to the smallest detail.

In order to truly understand what's included in a quoted price, the vendor should provide an estimate outlining the per-person costs, individual items listed, and special, small details noted.  Contracts are highly recommended.  Be sure to read them thoroughly and look for all deadlines and costs.  Ask for clarification if anything is unclear; however, it should be crystal clear.  Be certain to note deadlines for deposit, cancellation policies, and late fees.

5.  It's your day . . . do it your way.

Today's brides have a variety of resources to get ideas.  Whether it is Pinterest, bridal magazines, wedding sites, or their best friends -- brides always want to ensure that this day is made of memories for herself and her new husband, the family, and all of their wonderful friends.  Do your research, find those place settings and centerpieces that speak to your heart, create a specialty menu that says, "this was made just for you", and a cake that will through a party for your mouth.  Bottom line, find vendors that will be as excited about your vision and help you create it your way.  Weddings are creations that will paint memories for a lifetime -- be sure to add that little touch of "you" that will always remain in their hearts.
